BALANCE is excited to announce a brand new Webinar for the Win Contest! We’re giving contestants a little extra incentive to attend our free webinars and get the financial guidance they need while connecting with your organization. 

One lucky attendee will win the $1,000 grand prize! 

The rules are simple. To enter, contestants just have to register and attend one of our free webinars in February, March, and April (and stay for the whole thing). Webinars are live, online sessions that let people learn from and interact with an expert on today’s most popular financial topics. 

How to enter: 

  • Must complete the webinar registration form for each webinar attended. Be sure to include Community Resource FCU as the BALANCE provider. 
  • Consumers must attend at least one session in our free webinar series. 
  • Each completed webinar earns you an additional entry into the contest. 
  • Attendees must stay for the entire webinar to receive an entry. 


February          Your Credit Score

One of the most important numbers consumers have is their credit score: it affects the ability to purchase a home, buy a car, get a credit card, and other financial decisions – but it can also hinder them. This workshop reviews types of credit scoring models currently used including FICO, Vantage, non-traditional, and bankruptcy risk. Participants will understand why these mathematical assessments were developed and how they can use them to their advantage.

March       Rebuilding After a Financial Crisis 

A job loss, a medical crisis, or other hardship can send a normal financial situation into a tailspin. Participants will learn how to get their finances back on track, including budgeting, repaying debt, rebuilding credit, establishing emergency savings and replenishing retirement savings.

April    Understanding Credit 

Credit: May want it but how do you get it? This session covers all aspects of becoming an educated credit consumer, including how lenders evaluate for credit approval, factors that impact credit qualification, how credit scoring works, and ways money management today impacts credit standing tomorrow.
